WASHINGTON - More than 90 percent of Kansas and Texas voters favor programs that fight hunger, reduce farm pollution, and help create farmers’ markets, according to statewide surveys.
The survey by a leading Republican polling firm, Public Opinion Strategies, also found that more than 70 percent of Kansas and Texas voters support allowing local communities to adopt restrictions for toxic pesticides from being applied at playgrounds and parks.
Support for the hunger, conservation, and local food programs cuts across party lines, the survey shows.
