WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Food Policy Action (FPA) issued the following statement from its Executive Director Willy Ritch on the confirmation of Sonny Perdue as USDA Secretary:

“We are pleased that a USDA Secretary has finally been confirmed today. We listened carefully to the promises Secretary Purdue made during his confirmation hearings and we hope he lives up to those commitments. The food movement is more important than ever, and FPA is going to keep pushing to improve policy and arm the public with information they need to hold policymakers, including the USDA, accountable. We congratulate Secretary Purdue on his confirmation and look forward to working with him to protect and improve important food and farming programs.”
